Best Ways to Beat the Heat at Turquoise Place
When temperatures soar on Alabama’s Gulf Coast, guests at Spectrum Resorts’ Turquoise Place can beat the heat with these ideas that’ll keep you cool and comfortable all summer long.

Rent a set of beach chairs with an umbrella from Perdido Beach Services and enjoy a little extra protection from the sun. You’ll be surprised at the difference it makes.
Plan to break for lunch in the hottest part of the day (noon – 2 p.m.). Choose lunch and naps in the room if you have littles or take the family to Change of Pace Restaurant for lunch and a frozen tropical treat. You’ll love this poolside bar and grill where kids are delighted with frozen MOCKtails!
Hit the indoor pool instead of the beach when it’s super hot. It’s amazing how much cooler it feels when you are in the water, but out of the sun.

Head to the lazy river and float away. Guests love this signature water feature with 450 feet of room to drift. The lazy river is open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Enjoy mornings outdoors, retreat indoors during the hottest temperatures, then head back out as the sun goes down. Late afternoons and early evenings on the beach are not only a little cooler, but they offer great sunset views.

Enjoy your spacious balcony and take in spectacular Gulf of Mexico views from a lounge chair or your private balcony hot tub.
Splurge a little and rent a gulf-front cabana only steps from the main outdoor pool. Take a break from the heat in an air-conditioned cabana decked out with a full bathroom (including a walk-in shower), couch, mini-fridge, flat screen TV, microwave, sink, blender and ice maker. Each cabana also comes with a private patio that includes loungers, tables and chairs.

Keep yourself hydrated with lots of water, popsicles, or water-packed fruits especially when the sun is scorching. And, don’t forget to reapply sunscreen often!
Don’t let summer slip away without booking your favorite condo at Turquoise Place and stay cool!
