Brett-Robinson Alabama Coastal Triathlon

Lace up your running shoes for the Brett Robinson Alabama Coastal Triathlon on Sept. 7. If you’re not quite up for the whole shebang, its little sister, the Coastal “Tri-It-On” Triathlon may be just right for you. Sponsored by Brett-Robinson and hosted by The Hangout, this 13th annual event ensures a Gulf swim, flat bike paths and a sprint to the finish line.

Lynyrd Skynyrd Farewell Tour with Cody Jinks

The “Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour” promises to be a toe-tapping good time at The Wharf Amphitheater on Sept. 28. The legendary band is known for classics, including “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Free Bird” and “What’s Your Name.” One of the best fall events in Orange Beach, tickets start at $39.50.

48th Annual National Shrimp Festival

Packed with thousands of pounds of fresh Gulf shrimp cooked every way imaginable, this four-day festival is scheduled Oct. 10-13. The National Shrimp Festival attracts more than 300,000 visitors annually and offers lots of vendors, a 5k and 10k race, a Kids Activity Village and so much more! Admission is free so plan to enjoy food; live music from national, regional and local artists; art and more.

11th Annual Oyster Cook-Off and Craft Beer Weekend

If oysters are your thing, you certainly can’t miss the 11th Oyster Cook-Off and Craft Beer Weekend at The Hangout. Slated for Nov. 1-2, this event continues to grow each year. Guests will enjoy seeing celebrity chefs, tasting more than 60 beers from some 30 craft brewers and listening to live music on the main stage. There’s an oyster shucking contest you’ll want to enter and be sure to cheer on contestants in the Bloody Mary Invitational. 35th Annual Frank Brown International Songwriters’ Festival

A favorite festival for locals and visitors alike, the annual Frank Brown International Songwriters’ Festival offers listening events across various venues between Nov. 7 and 17. Venue sites stretch from Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama to Pensacola and Perdido Key, Florida showcasing almost 200 songwriters from across the country and around the world. It’s a fun time to hear some of your favorite tunes in a listening-room setting. The best way to research venues and times is on the event website. With so many dates to choose from, it’s easily one of the top fall events in Orange Beach.

2019 Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show

If you’ve never witnessed the Navy’s precision flight team in action, don’t let another year go by without watching the Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show, Nov. 8-9. The Blue Angels will close out their season with two spectacular shows around 2 p.m. each day. The gates at the National Museum of Naval Aviation in nearby Pensacola, Florida open at 8 a.m. You can also view the show by boat. Check out Sail Wild Hearts for an unforgettable cruise on its 53-foot open-ocean catamaran. The cruise includes a boxed lunch, as well.

2019 Kaiser Realty by Wyndham Vacation Rentals Coastal Half Marathon and 5K Run

Visitors bring their families and flock to Orange Beach for the annual Kaiser Coastal Half Marathon, 5k and One Mile Run each November. A great way to rid yourself of extra holiday pounds, there’s an event for everyone. Enjoy peaceful, paved trails through Gulf State Park, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach followed by a post-race party on Nov. 23.
