Hurricane Sally Update

Updated Jan. 14, 2021

As you know, Hurricane Sally caused widespread destruction to our area as well as our resort. Our team has been working tirelessly to clean and properly prepare the property in anticipation of reopening.

We are now accepting reservations!

However, please know things aren’t quite the same just yet at Turquoise Place. We will have an extremely limited inventory of units available for guests, as repairs prohibit all units from being available for rental guests. We want you to have the best possible vacation at your favorite Orange Beach resort, and we also believe in full transparency.

The D Tower front desk will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020.
The C Tower front desk will remain closed.

Coming Spring 2021!

We anticipate being back to the Turquoise Place our guests know and love by mid-March. We’re working hard to welcome you back to your favorite Orange Beach resort in all her glory, plus some! What does that mean? It means all of our amenities will be back open for your family’s enjoyment. In addition, we have exciting changes and upgrades, including:

  • Select units will be renovated.
  • New boardwalk will make transporting beach gear and wagons easier with ramps rather than stairs. It will also make getting to the beach easier for our wheelchair travelers.
  • New carpet in all common areas.
  • New landscaping.
  • 70+ new panes of iconic Turquoise Place glass.

As of Jan 15, 2021, please be aware of the following during your winter vacation:

  • The following amenities will NOT be available: most pools, saunas, steam rooms, lazy river, tennis courts, select unit balconies. Fitness rooms ARE open. The inside pool in C tower is open. Change of Pace reopens March 10 and the Spectrum Club Lounge reopens for take-out breakfast only on March 13.
  • Construction hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Expect to hear construction noise and see construction workers, as well as see equipment and materials at various places throughout the resort.
  • Guests will be required to sign a construction waiver stating you understand the risks of staying at Turquoise Place during our recovery process.

Construction Hazards

Please be aware while we are eager to welcome you back, there are construction hazards. Guests will be required to sign a hazard waiver prior to arrival. During your visit, you may encounter the following:

  • Broken glass, even in grassy areas and hallway carpeting
  • Uneven pavers
  • Barricades blocking off hallways, sections of hallways and lobbies, pool decks and some outdoor areas
  • Construction materials, including supplies, fencing and equipment
  • Construction debris, dust, etc.
  • Falling items from above (mainly glass as it is being removed)
  • Reduced visibility entering and exiting the property, as well as reduced lighting outside
  • This is not a complete list.

Balcony Repairs Underway

Beginning Friday, January 8, we will start pressure washing the balconies of specific condos to prepare for painting and waterproofing. This construction project is necessary to repair damage by Hurricane Sally. Access to the balconies of these specific units are prohibited.

Units affected are:

C Tower stacks 6-9 (units ending in 6 through 9)
D Tower stacks 1-5 (units ending in 1 through 5)

If you are staying in one of these units between January 8 and March 10 a reservation agent will be reaching out to you shortly to discuss your options. Also please check your email for a message from Spectrum Resorts regarding your stay.

If you have not already received a call from us, we will call you soon. If you choose to stay in your unit a discounted rate will be available. If you would like to move to another unit, we will do everything in our power to do so. If you choose to cancel, we will be flexible in our cancellation policies. All cancellations, condo reassignments, etc., will be made on a case-by-case basis. You will be able to address all concerns with our team members when they contact you.

Rest assured, we will do everything possible to ensure you have an enjoyable vacation. We appreciate your flexibility with these last-minute changes to your reservation.

Appreciation for our Team Members

Many of our Spectrum team members are dealing with their own personal devastation. We love our team and are working hard to provide support for them. If members need help filing with FEMA, we are assisting with the process. We have also been feeding team members and workers at the resort during this time. Our individual owners have been a wonderful help with monetary donations to team members. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We also have a fund for emergency situations that will help team members with significant damage. Thank you for the continued support, patience, love and prayers as we continue working to welcome you back!

A deep thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the help our community has received thus far. We have a long way to go, but we will get there together!

Turquoise Place is eager to welcome you back and to continue providing a safe and memorable vacation. We thank you for your loyalty and we hope to see you soon!

Details on reopening efforts will be updated frequently and communicated on social media and here on the website.
