Fort Morgan, Alabama
Distance from Turquoise Place: 29 miles; 46-minute drive
Enjoy a day exploring the historic Fort Morgan, which played an important role in the Battle of Mobile Bay during the Civil War. Aside from its peaceful beachfront, Fort Morgan also boasts the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, home to many plants, migratory birds, and small critters.
Dauphin Island

Distance from Turquoise Place: 29 miles to Mobile Bay Ferry; 49-minute drive, 40-minute ferry ride
Dauphin Island is home to the Sea Lab Estuarium and the historic Fort Gaines and is a quick ferry ride away from Fort Morgan. All ages will enjoy the Estuarium, which houses over 100 species and a stingray touch pool. Fort Gaines has stood at the entrance of Mobile Bay for almost 200 years.
